Berea Craft Festival 2018 Edition

One of my favorite weekends of the year is fast approaching. If you’ve visited the Berea Craft Fair in the historic Indian Fort Theater, you probably know why. How fun to have the woods filled arts and crafts and musicians and dancers and good food and good vibes and good will and camaraderie and….well, you get my drift.

My work table is filled with work to complete, as is always the case before a show. And the excitement is setting in.

Make plans to visit us in Berea, Ky on July 13, 14 and 15th if you can. In addition to the craft festival, Berea, Ky is a wonderful, fun experience with a good amount of galleries to visit, two of which just received large shipments of some of my newest pieces. (Appalachian Fireside Gallery and the Kentucky Artisan Center)

Hope to see you there!

Thank You!

I would love to extend a heartfelt Thank You to everyone who stopped by my booth at the Berea Craft Festival this past weekend in Berea, Kentucky. This is one of my favorite weekends of the year! I speak a lot about the charm of the historic Indian Fort Theater and the creative, inspiring vibe that can be felt during the festival but until you experience it for yourself it’s hard to really explain. The truth is…this experience is carefully curated by a bunch of hard-working people and has been for 35 years. Firstly, the the organizers of the Berea Craft Festival carefully choose interesting, dynamic artists and crafters for this show. There’s no doubt about the quality of the things you’ll find at the fair! Secondly, each artist puts so much effort into creating a fantastic shopping experience for the buyers. This woodland marketplace is outstanding. Couple that with strolling musicians, delicious food, kids crafts and demonstrations that will spark your imagination and maybe, just maybe, you’ll get the itch to create yourself!

I really enjoyed getting to meet so many different people, having the opportunity to talk about my work and share a little about my process and how I taught myself to make these little people. An extra special Thank You to everyone who purchased a little something to take home with you or to tuck under the tree for a loved one this Christmas. It makes my heart swell to know that a little piece of me will live on in your home and through your family traditions! Thanks so much!

(My space on Friday morning right before the gates opened! Exciting!)

(I wish I had more pictures to share of this amazing event, but sometimes the downside of being a participant is that I don’t have to time to walk around snapping photos of all the things I really love. Make plans to attend next year to experience this for yourself. The Berea Craft Festival is always the second weekend in July!)

2015 Berea Craft Festival

It’s almost time! You can bet my hands have been busy getting ready for the 34th annual Berea Craft Festival. It’s one of my most favorite events. I love displaying my artwork here & having the opportunity to talk about what I do with art enthusiasts. I love seeing friends! And I love looking at all the amazing art & crafts that are available during this event. It’s family friendly too! Lots of demonstrations. You’ll get the opportunity to see artisans work on their craft right in front  of your eyes. It’s a great opportunity to bring kids. It’s amazing to see how some of the items you use every day are brought to life. Great food & music! If you are looking for a fun, educational experience this weekend, come to the Berea Craft Festival! It’s a rich experience.

If you get a chance, stop by this weekend! I promise you, you’ll have a fun time. (I was super excited to see my dolls as part of the advertising for the Berea Craft Festival this year!)

Berea Craft Festival ’14 Preview

It’s almost here! In less than two weeks, I’ll be packing up my studio and heading to the Berea Craft Festival in Berea, Ky. I love this event. I often boast about the atmosphere, the woods, the art, the renaissance dancers, the regional music, the flavors. But I swear I don’t think it’s possible to convey how cool the Berea Craft Festival is with just words and photos. It’s an experience. It has flavor. A flavor all its own.

This last week before the Berea Craft Festival, finds me pushing myself to complete new pieces. I always want to have new work to show those who visit my booth each year….new ornaments, new little critters. And new signed and numbered pieces too. Here’s just a sampling of some of the new work that is finished and photographed and packed away, waiting to travel to Indian Fort Theater soon. My worktable is full of items waiting for their last touches as well.

Enjoy! And if you’re looking for a great weekend July 11, 12 and 13, travel to Berea. You can visit the Craft Festival, tour the local shops in Berea, KY, including the Old Town artist community and you can visit the Kentucky Artisan Center, home to some of the very best art and crafts Kentucky has to offer.
