This little girl is Zoey. And yes she is little! Zoey is my first individually offered mini. She has been made of muslin, stuffed with fiberfill & hand-painted & sanded, top to bottom many, many times. Zoey is sealed with a combination of sealers so that she may be beautifully preserved. She has a hemp loop attached to her back for hanging. She can also sit on her own with the aid of those beautiful wings. Her knees are sewn through, making her a great shelf sitter. Zoey is a wee 10 inches tall, with an 8 inch wingspan & brings with her a 4.5 inch pumpkin.
Zoey’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, just like my larger dolls.
Zoey’s fingers have been needle sculpted. She sports dainty mustard yellow gloves & pretty boots complete with orange laces & mustard yellow socks. Zoey’s laces are highlighted & shaded, making them so very interesting.
Zoey’s skirt has been made from two truly supple & soft 100% cotton prints. Her blouse is made of taupe osnaburg & features hand-gathered sleeves & tiny glass beads adorning the front. There’s tons of hand-stitching on these two pieces. All visible hems have been hand-stitched as well as the back of Zoey’s blouse.
Zoey’s wings have been made of muslin. They are machine quilted & hand-painted to resemble the Atlas Moth. They have been sanded & stained for a slightly primitive appearance and are attached with heavy duty button thread & a vintage button.
Zoey’s tiny white pumpkin has been made of muslin, stuffed with fiber fill & hand-painted & sanded many times. It is stained for a rustic appearance & is finished off with a rusty wire ‘stem’ (attached with invisible filament) & hemp bow.
After the fall season, you can display Zoey with your butterfly or fairy collection. Her hair is light red 100% mohair. It was lightly glued & carefully needle-felted to her head.
