This is one sweet Christmas set. Meet Pere Noel. He is my first BIG Christmas doll of the season, measuring 28″ tall from head to toe. He measures a full 25-26″ when sitting. Both he & his little friend are original, one of a kind muslin & fiberfill creations. They’ve been hand-painted top to bottom and have been sanded & aged, giving them such a lovely, vintage patina, like the toys from so long ago. Both dolls have been sealed so that they may be lightly dusted after display. Both dolls have knees which are sewn through. Teddy may be displayed separately, if you wish. However, he only sits with assistance.
Santa’s gentle face has been been carefully painted with a variety of media. His nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving him a cute pout underneath that beard & mustache. His hands are needle-sculpted as well. He wears detailed boots, complete with painted buttons.
Pere Noel’s shirt has been made of taupe osnaburg. His pants are chocolate corduroy with embroidery thread ties at the hemline. He has polka dot suspenders & vintage, mother of pearl buttons underneath that velveteen coat! Pere Noel’s hat is made of velveteen as well. It is a beautiful jewel tone green. The arms of the coat are accented with white faux fur. A silver jingle bell dangles from the end of Pere Noel’s hat.
This sweet bear has needle-sculpted ears & needle-sculpted fingers. His shirt is taupe osnaburg. His pants are chocolate brown corduroy. Polka dot suspenders complete his outfit. There is a lot of hand-stitching in this set!
Pere Noel is now available on Ebay. Click here to view or bid.
This is my new collection of Christmas ornaments. There are five angels in this set. They’re made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. I’ve painted & sanded these dolls numerous times & treated them to a series of paint washes to truly grime them up. They wear little floral print dresses which have been coffee/lavender bud/vanilla dyed. They do not smell, however. The bottom hem & arm sleeves have been finished with hand stitching. The neckline remains tattered & raw. Each little apron has been made of muslin & dyed. There is hand-stitching on the apron. They are tied to the dolls with jute twine. These little babies have wings made from antique drawer pulls found in a local antique shop. I’ve stained them lightly to enhance & warm the color of the wood. The backs of the drawer pulls have been decoupaged with Christmas carol sheet music from a vintage hymnal. They’ve been paint washed, stained & sealed lightly. Each set of wings has been tied securely to the angel with hemp twine which crosses in front.
Each little angel carries her own banner. I’ve stamped the message onto taupe card stock with chocolate ink. The letters are attached to hemp twine & simply tied to their hands. Each comes finished with a hemp hanger.
These little girls will be available as a set on eBay later on in the season.
