Jolly, A Christmas Bunny in Shades of Red

Meet Jolly. Jolly is 17″ tall from the tip of her hat to her toes. She’s been made of muslin & is stuffed with fiberfill. This sweet Christmas bunny has been hand-painted & sanded a couple of times, giving her a lovely, aged patina. She’s been sealed so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Jolly has an embroidery thread loop attached making her suitable for hanging. She may sit with assistance & her knees are sewn through.

Jolly’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose has been needle-sculpted. Those sweet lop ears are attached separately. Jolly has needle-sculpted hands as well. She sports painted brown boots with detailed laces & painted, eyelet lace socks!

Jolly’s blouse is sewn from taupe osnaburg & features hand-stitching at the neckline, sleeves & back. Her hat is constructed from polka dot 100% cotton fabric & features a warm & natural batting edge. It is attached with straight pins. Jolly’s skirt is made of Moda fabric in a pretty red print & features hand-stitching along the hem.

Notice I didn’t say afters! There’s still so much work to be done that I don’t really consider these photos afters. They’re definitely in-progress pictures. Although you won’t really see the boxes that still need to be unpacked or the piles of random odds & ends that need to be organized (or the rooms that are not included in these photos) they’re there! Trust me. What you will see are floors that need to be refinished or painted, ceilings that need to be smoothed or textured & here & there vignettes that make me smile.

Home ownership feels good. And nesting makes my heart happy.

Aubrey, a Primitive Toy-Toting Elf Girl.

Who says elves just make stick horses? This little girl is in charge of giving those beloved toys a twist!

Meet Aubrey. Aubrey is a free standing doll measuring 20″ from the tip of her hat to her base. (She has no legs.) She’s been made of muslin & is stuffed with fiberfill in the style of a stump doll. Her base is rag-stuffed & lightly weighted for stability. This sweet elf has been hand-painted & sanded a couple of times, giving her a lovely, aged patina. She’s been sealed so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Aubrey’s arms are button jointed allowing them to be slightly posed.

Aubrey’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving her face a great bit of dimension & great a little pout. Aubrey has needle-sculpted hands as well & cute pointy ears.

This dress is spectacular if I do say so myself! It features nine 100% cotton prints in shades of red, brown & muted blue. Just perfect for a jolly, toy-making elf, don’t you think?I’ve hand-stitched the hem with brown thread. Aubrey’s blouse is sewn from taupe osnaburg & features hand-stitching at the neckline, sleeves & back. Her hat is constructed from chocolate velveteen & features big stitches around the brim with red embroidery thread. Two deep red beads dangle from the end. It is attached to Aubrey with two straight pins.

Aubrey’s stocking is made of brown wool & features vintage buttons along the front. There are red embroidery thread stitches decorating the stocking too! These stick animals feature hand painted “sticks”, embroidery thread reins & embroidery thread bows around the neck. They’ve each been made of muslin & have been hand-painted.

Aubrey’s wavy red hair is 100% mohair. It has been applied with light glue for extra security & needle-felting & has been left long.

Charity, an Angel Guaranteed to add a little Glimmer to your Holiday Season!

Charity is one of two Christmas tree toppers I am now offering! She’ll add the perfect touch of whimsy to the tip top of your Christmas tree. Charity is a half-torso doll built on a paper mache cone. Her dress extends 4-5? past the cone. When displayed on your tree, Charity will be 16-17? tall. Charity can also be displayed on a table BUT she would have to be perched atop a candlestick, spool, small box or any other way you can think of to give her dress a little height. (For instance, she is perched upon an decorative vase in the photo above.)

Charity has been made with the same level of detail as my regular dolls. Her nose, lip & hands have been needle-sculpted & her dress features tons of hand-stitching! She’s been hand-painted & sealed & features glass glitter wings which are attached with a button.

Although Charity will not come with a Certificate of Authenticity & is not numbered, she has a Miller Campbell Designs label attached to her cone & has been signed.

Grace, an Angelic Christmas Tree Topper

Imagine this little girl atop your Christmas tree this season!

Grace is my newest design–made especially to be displayed at the tip top of your Christmas tree. Grace is a half-torso doll built on a paper mache cone. Her dress extends 4-5″ past the cone. When displayed on your tree, Grace will be 17″ tall. Grace can also be displayed on a table BUT she would have to be perched atop a candlestick, spool, small box or any other way you can think of to give her dress a little height. Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus!

This sweet fellow comes bearing gifts no child could resist!

I know that this gentleman needs no introduction! Beloved by folks both young & old, this little guy is guaranteed to pull at your heartstrings! Santa stands approximately 18.5″ tall from the tip of his sweet annie wreath to his base. He’s been made of muslin & is stuffed with fiberfill in the style of a stump doll. He has no legs & is free-standing. His base is rag-stuffed & lightly weighted for stability. Santa’s been hand-painted & sanded a couple of times, giving him a lovely, aged patina. He’s been sealed so that he may be lightly dusted after display. His arms are button jointed allowing them to be slightly posed.

Santa’s face has been painted with a variety of media. His nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving his face a great bit of dimension. He has needle-sculpted hands as well.

Santa’s undergarment is made made of taupe osnaburg. It features a hand-stitching at the neckline, sleeves & hem. Santa’s coat is sewn from deep red velveteen. It features hand-stitching along the hem & is edged with vintage crochet trim.
Santa wears a sweet annie half-wreath on his head. Deep red beads are nestled in the sweet annie sprigs.

Santa carries a bag made from brown wool & tied with a sheer brown bow. Tucked inside the bag are some very special treats, including a vintage-style stick horse & a tiny doll inspired by vintage Kewpie dolls. All of Santa’s goodies have been made from muslin & have been hand-painted sanded & sealed. The stick horse measures 7″ tall while the little Kewpie measures a wee 6″.

Santa’s hair is 100% wool. It has been applied with light glue for extra security & needle-felting.

Elvin, The Head Chief Up North (When Santa’s Not Around).

This little fellow is Elvin. He keeps things running smoothly up North, but you’d never hear him say so! Elvin measures 17″ tall from the tip of his cute hat to his toes. He’s been made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. He’s been hand-painted & sanded a couple of times, giving him a lovely, aged patina. Elvin has a hemp loop attached to his back making him suitable for hanging or he can be sit with assistance. Elvin has been sealed so that he may be lightly dusted after display.

Elvin’s face has been painted with a variety of media. His nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving him a perfect pout. His hands have been needle-sculpted as well. He sports brown painted gloves & brown painted boots with the cutest striped stockings.

His shirt is made of white muslin. It features hand stitching around the neckline, sleeves & back. It is finished with tiny black buttons at the neckline. His pants are brown corduroy with cutesy polka dot suspenders.

This sweet teddy will be going to a special home! It’s a muslin & fiberfill creation & measures a wee 4 inches. Elvin’s bag is made of burlap & has sprigs of sweet annie tucked inside. The jute strap is pinned to the bag, allowing it to be removed if you wish.

Elvin’s hair is 100% wool. It is a beautiful grey color & has been applied with light glue for extra security & needle-felting.
He has a ponytail in the back.

Arella, A Dazzling Christmas Angel

Just the sight of this little girl has me craving egg nog & humming Christmas carols.

Meet Arella. She is 16″ tall from the tip of her sweet annie halo to her base. She’s been made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. She’s been hand-painted & sanded a couple of times, giving her a lovely, aged patina. Arella’s base is rag-stuffed & weighted so that she stands nicely on her own. She’s been made in the style of a stump doll, meaning she has no legs. Arella’s been sealed so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Her arms are button jointed allowing them to be slightly posed.
(I am still in the process of getting my picture-taking space set up in our new place, so please forgive the quality of these pictures. If you like Arella in the photographs, you’ll LOVE her in person. She is so breath-taking & sparkly!)

Arella’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving her a perfect pout. Her hands have been needle-sculpted as well. She sports brown painted gloves.

Arella wears a white muslin blouse. It features hand-gathered sleeves & hand-stitching around the neckline and back. It is finished off with a grey mother of pearl button at the neckline. Arella’s skirt is made of two layers of sheer white voile on top of a layer of cotton batiste. Each hem features delicate hand-stitching.

Arella’s sparkly wings are made from muslin & cotton batting. They feature vintage style glass glitter, machine-quilting & are attached to Arella with a large, mother of pearl button. Her little dove is a muslin/fiberfill creations & is button jointed. He is nested in a burlap cone filled with sweet annie. A silver-glittered star is wired to the cone.

Arella’s hair is 100% mohair. It is strawberry blonde in color & has been applied with light glue for extra security & needle-felting.
It is styled in a beautiful, messy side bun.

Willa, a Flutter Witch

Brooms are so last week. This little lady prefers a more glamorous mode of transportation.

Meet Willa. She is 18.5″ from the tip of her hat to her base. Willa is 15″ tall without her hat. Shes been made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. She’s been hand-painted & sanded a couple of times, giving her a lovely, aged patina. Willa’s base is rag-stuffed & weighted so that she stands nicely on her own. She’s been sealed with a combination of glossy & matte sealers so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Willa’s arms are button jointed allowing them to be slightly posed.

Willa’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand. Her hands have been needle-sculpted as well. She sports brown painted gloves.

Willa’s wings have been made from muslin & cotton batting. They are machine quilted, hand-painted & accented with silvery glitter. They are attached to Willa with a vintage button & embroidery thread.

Willa’s blouse is made of white muslin. It features hand-gathered sleeves & hand-stitching around the neckline and back. It is finished off with tiny, black buttons at the neckline. Willa’s skirt is made of two layers of black cotton fabric. The top layer has been torn into strips, giving Willa’s skirt volume & movement. The hem is hand-stitched. Willa’s hat is trimmed in silvery glitter.

Willa’s curly grey hair is 100% mohair. It has been applied with light glue for extra security & needle-felting.
