Shop the Latest…

I’ve loved having an Etsy shop. I get asked about my shop a lot. Mostly from folks who have a home-based business who are looking for a way to sell their items online. I consistently tell people it’s the best way, in my opinion, to have an online shop without the work of building it into a website. Even for someone like me who already has a website…the thought of building a section of this website that functions as smoothly as my Etsy shop…seems daunting. And so I plug along on Etsy. I like it.

BUT…I really dislike that you haven’t been able to sort my items in my shop by newest made. You can sort by newly listed. But every time I refresh a listing, it goes to the top of the heap. One of my favorite things about following my favorite artists online…is seeing what they’re coming up with in real time. I love looking at the latest pieces. So often I can see growth and skill level evolve. And I see that in my own work too.

So. I am still on Etsy. My simple solution is to update my For Sale page with the latest items. Every time I update my Etsy shop, I’ll update this page too. Newest creations will be at the top of the heap. Each icon will link to the corresponding listing in my Etsy shop and you can order or peruse the same way on there. I just thought this might be a fun way to see what I’ve been up to…to see what my hands have been busy making in the last little bit.

So…these are my latest pieces. And, if you’d like to purchase in another manner, please don’t hesitate to email me. Although I prefer Paypal, I also accept personal checks. The turn around policy is a little slower. (I have to wait until your check clears.) But some folks do not wish to pay with debit or credit cards. And I understand that entirely.

Jackie – A Sweet Halloween Jack o’ Lantern

This little lady was very fun to make. I LOVE making artwork for Halloween and autumn. You can be as silly, serious or as spooky as you want to be.

This little girl is on the sweet side. She is my offering for August’s PFATT Marketplace update. Here are some pics of sweet Jackie.

Come We to the Summer

Earlier this year I worked on a piece especially for the Kentucky Folk Art Center’s summer exhibition entitled Come We to the Summer.  I was honored to have my piece selected for the exhibit. The show is scheduled to be displayed until August 29th. So there is still time to view this wonderful exhibit if you have a chance. I have a few pictures from the opening reception, including some photos of my humbled little gal, Mariposa, who was just happy to spread her wings amongst such fantastic artwork.

(This was my first gallery exhibition in Kentucky and the very first opening reception I’ve been able to attend. Last year I was honored to have work included in a group exhibit at Hawk Galleries in Columbus, Ohio featuring Minnie Adkins and many of the area Kentucky folk artists.)

I wish I had taken more photos of the fantastic evening and of all the great art work that was presented in this show, including the Best in Show winning piece by Jo Ann Butts. Unfortunately, this was one of the evenings I forgot my camera but made due with the iPhone. The show is still up for a few more weeks if you would like to swing by and see it.

It’s Time. Let’s head to the Woodland!

This weekend is the well-loved and recognized Woodland Art Fair in Lexington, Ky. I am happy to be amongst the 200 artists accepted to this show this year. I’ll have lots of new critters and smiling faces ready to greet you, including mine! If you’ve never seen my work in person, this is a great opportunity to see my pieces up close in a beautiful and charming setting with live music to accompany you while you shop.

I’m space 219. You can find me in the Woodland Art Fair map. Click the image below to enlarge it full size. I’ve marked my spot with a blue heart. Look for the bandstand and pool to find me! I’m near Kentucky Avenue.
