Berea Craft Festival Preview!

I’m so tickled to be participating in the 30th annual Berea Craft Festival, held in Berea, Kentucky. Today I’m busy wrapping dollies in bubble wrap, securely packaging them for travel & crossing items off my to-do list….and working on finishing a couple of dolls before this weekend’s show.

Here are a few examples of the newness I’ve created especially for the Berea Festival. There’s LOTS more. If you’re near Kentucky, come on out! Enjoy the music, food, art & hopefully, sunshine!

There’s more to be seen this weekend July 8-10th! www.bereacraftfestival.com

Rosetta – A Sparkly Garden Fairy.

Meet Rosetta. She’s my newest creation & is my offering for April’s PFATT Marketplace update. Rosetta is an OOAK (original, one of a kind) paperclay creation. She will not be reproduced.

Rosetta is 10.75” tall with a wingspan of 5”. She is a wee little charmer for sure! Rosetta’s head is made from paperclay over Styrofoam armature, securely sculpted to a papermache cone base. Additional paperclay details include Rosetta’s leafy collar & the petals of her beautiful skirt. Rosetta is a free-standing doll & because she was built on a cone base, she can also be used as a lovely tree topper in your shabby-chic or romantic, Victorian home.

Rosetta has been hand-painted top to bottom with a variety of media in several layers. She has a great vintage patina & lots of texture! Rosetta has been sealed with matte sealant, but has a slight sheen.

Her wings are machine-quilted muslin. The front of Rosetta’s wings are heavily dusted with vintage-style glass glitter. They are securely attached to Rosetta’s body with embroidery thread & vintage, mother of pearl buttons.

Rosetta can be purchased here. Make sure to check out the many wonderful offering by members of the PFATT (Primitive Folk Art Talk & Tea) Marketplace members.

Angeline — Keeper of the Lambs

This sweet lady is Angeline. She’s approximately 15″ tall from the top of her head to her base. She’s a muslin & fiberfill creation & is made in they style of a stump doll. She has no legs & stands on her own as her base is lightly weighted. She’s been hand-painted top to bottom and has been sanded & aged, giving her such a lovely, vintage patina. Angeline is sealed so that she may be lightly dusted after display.

Angeline’s face has been been carefully painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving her face a great bit of dimension. Her hands are needle-sculpted as well. Angeline’s beautiful white wings are machine-quilted, painted, stained & sanded & are covered in vintage-style German glass glitter. They sparkle brilliantly! They are attached to Angeline with a vintage, mother of pearl button & embroidery thread.

This fabric is part of one of my favorite Moda collections! It is 100% cotton & is so supple to the touch. The hem has been stitched by hand. Angeline’s blouse is made of white muslin. A vintage, grey mother of pearl button adorns the neckline. There is hand-stitching along the back, neckline & sleeves.

Aren’t these little guys the sweetest? They are made of five separate parts, button jointed. Each lamb measures 5.5″ long and 6″ tall. They’ve been hand-painted, aged & sealed for durability.

Angeline’s hair is 100% mohair. It has been secured to her head with needle-felting and a little glue for extra durability.

Angeline is now available on Ebay. She ends Sunday evening April 10th at 9:15 PM EST. Click here to make this little angel & her sweet friends, yours.
