Even though it’s hot outside, it’s Christmastime in the studio. Today is all about reindeer, elves, sweet teddies & the jolliest elf of them all. These are just a couple of my works in progress today. Enjoy the sneak peek!
Trinnie & Kat – A Festive Little Trick-or-Treating Witch Duo.
Meet Trinnie & Kat. She’s 19″ tall from the tip of her polka dot witch hat to the tip of her toes (seventeen inches without her hat). She’s a muslin & fiberfill doll. Her lower torso is rag-stuffed & lightly weighted so that she may sit nicely. She’s been hand-painted top to bottom a couple of times & has such a lovely, aged patina. She’s been sealed so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Trinnie & Kat would look lovely perched upon a bookcase or shelf. Her knees are sewn through. Her arms are button jointed.
Trinnie’s sweet face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving her face a great bit of dimension & a beautiful little pout. She has needle-sculpted hands as well. She sports brown painted boots with taupe socks & detailed black laces.
Trinnie’s apron dress is 100% cotton. It features a hand-stitched hemline. Her blouse is made of white muslin. The hem, sleeves, neckline & back have been stitched by hand. Trinnie’s polka dot hat is embellished with a hand-made tissue paper pompom which is attached with wire.
Don’t you just love these little accessories? Kat is 4.5″ tall & features button jointed arms. She has no legs but sits in Trinnie’s lap quite nicely. Trinnie’s pumpkin is a paperclay over styrofoam creation which has been hand painted & sculpted. A rusty wire handle is attached.
Trinnie & Kat are available on Ebay. She ends Sunday night at 9:15 PM EST. Click here to make this sweet set yours.
Hettie & Leonard, a Primitive Spell-Casting Pair
Meet Hettie! She’s a 22″ tall folk art witch who’s been made of muslin & fiberfill. (She measures 18″ without her hat.) Hettie is made in the style of a stump doll & has no legs. She’s been hand-painted top to bottom a couple of times & has such a lovely, aged patina. She’s been sealed so that she may be lightly dusted after display.
Hettie’s face (what, it’s not scary?) has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving her face a great bit of dimension & a beautiful little pout. She has needle-sculpted hands as well.
Hettie’s apron dress is made out of some of my favorite 100% cotton prints. (The green fabric is more vivid in person.) Her blouse is made of white muslin & features a vintage button at the neckline. Hettie’s hem, sleeves, neckline & back have been stitched by hand. Hettie’s witch hat has a lightly wired brim so it can be shaped however you desire. It features 3 handmade, tissue-paper pompoms which are attached to the hat with wire. Hattie’s hat will be pinned in place for safe shipping.
This is Leonard. You can bet Hettie doesn’t travel without him. She just never had the heart to add him to her witch’s brew! He’s a hand-painted muslin creation & is a little over 5″ tall. He’s been sealed with matte sealer. Leonard’s little ‘pouch’ is accented with various vintage buttons, embroidery thread & is permanently attached to Hettie. Leonard, however, is removable & can be displayed on his own.
Hettie’s red hair is 100% mohair. It has been secured in place with needle-felting & light glue. It is styled in messy buns.
Hettie is now available on eBay. She will end May 23 at 9:15 PM EST. Click here to view or bid!
