Althea is a 16.5” tall original folk art flower doll. She’s been created from muslin & fiberfill & is hand-painted top to bottom. She’s been sanded & antiqued & has such a lovely patina & old-fashioned appeal. Althea is sealed with matte sealer so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Her skirt is 100% cotton & features a hand-stitched hem. Althea’s machine-quilted wings are attached with a vintage mother of pearl button. Her wingspan is 12”. Her cutesy polka dot petals have been applied securely by hand. This little girl has an embroidery thread loop attached, making her suitable for hanging. She may also sit with assistance & would look lovely perched upon a bookshelf. Her knees are sewn through.

This is Jolie. And I must say, her name suits her well! Meaning ‘pretty’ in French, this little girl is just that! Jolie measures 15 from head to base. Her skirt extends another 2 inches past her base. Jolie’s wings measure 12″ across. She has been made of muslin & is stuffed with fiberfill. Her base has been rag-stuffed & is lightly weighted so that she may stand evenly. She’s been hand-painted & sanded a couple of times, giving her a lovely, aged patina. She’s been sealed so that she may be lightly dusted after display.

Jolie’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving her face a great bit of dimension & a beautiful little pout. She has needle-sculpted hands as well.

Jolie’s blouse was fashioned from white muslin. It features hand-gathered sleeves & hand-stitching along the neckline & back. A vintage mother of pearl button at the neckline adds detail. Jolie’s underskirt is made from muslin. The hem has been hand-stitched. Her overskirt consists of three layers of gathered sparkle tulle. Its subtle & beautiful glimmer adds to Jolie’s loveliness. 

Jolie’s wings have been made from quilters muslin & batting. They’ve been machine-stitched, hand-painted, aged, sanded & sealed. They’re attached to Jolie with a vintage mother of pearl button & embroidery thread.

Jolie’s light brown hair is 100% mohair. It has been applied with light glue for extra security & needle-felting. It has been pulled to each side & styled into loose ringlets.
