Hazel, the sweetest Trick-or-Treating Clown Around

This sweetie, inspired by last weekend’s trip to the circus (FUN!), is Hazel. Hazel is one of the cutest trick-or-treaters to be found, I do believe. She has been painted & sanded, top to bottom many, many times & is sealed so that she may be beautifully preserved. Hazel has a weighted torso allowing her to sit nicely. She was lightly wired arms & measures 16″ tall from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet. Including her balloon, Hazel measures 18″ tall.

Hazel’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand.

Hazel’s fingers have been needle-sculpted as well. She sports white gloves. She also sports pretty brown boots complete with tan laces & pink socks.

Hazel’s blouse & ruffled collar have been made from white muslin which has been treated to a coffee & lavender bud bath for a slightly aged appearance. It was then washed & pressed.  Hazel’s apron skirt is made from two beautiful 100% cotton prints in shades of brown & tan. Hazel’s collar ties in the back with chocolate ribbon & features two vintage, pink buttons. Both pieces of clothing feature tons of hand-stitching! All visible hems have been hand-stitched, as well as the back of Hazel’s blouse & her collar.

Hazel just couldn’t go trick or treating without a sweet, pink balloon to keep her company. This balloon has been made of muslin, painted, sanded, aged & sealed. It is attached to Hazel’s arm with rusty wire.

Hazel’s gonna fill this bucket with all the candy it can hold! Made of paperclay without the use of any molds, this ghostly trick-or-treat bucket measures a bit over 4″ tall & is 3″ wide. It has been painted, aged, sanded & sealed for protection. The handle is constructed from rusty wire.

Hazel’s hair is brown 100% mohair. (It does not appear as red as the photos suggest.) It was lightly glued & carefully needle-felted to her head. It is parted & styled into messy side buns.

Hazel is currently available on Ebay. She will end Sunday, Oct. 12th at 9PM EST. Click here to view or bid!

Lucy, a Primitive Devil with Black Cat Bucket.

This little Devil is quite the charmer! Meet Lucy. Lucy & her kitty treat bucket are my original designs. Lucy has been painted & sanded, top to bottom many, many times & sealed so she may be beautifully preserved. Lucy has a weighted torso allowing her to sit nicely. She was lightly wired arms & measures 17″ tall from the tip of her horns to the bottom of her feet.

Lucy’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand. Lucy’s horns have been attached separately & are NOT removable.

I’ve needle-sculpted Lucy’s fingers by hand. She wears painted dark grey gloves. She also wears pretty black boots with fancy red laces & grey socks.

Lucy’s stiff cape is made from muslin & has been painted red, heavily stained & sanded. It features a stiff collar that can be worn up or down & also features pretty mismatched buttons in the front. It ties with a chocolate ribbon & is machine stitched along the outer edge.  Lucy’s skirt is a fabulous black & white Robert Kaufman print. Her blouse is made from muslin & features hand-gathered sleeves & a black button at the neckline.

I’ve loved making these trick-or-treat buckets! This darling kitty measures a bit over 4″ tall & is 3″ wide. It has been sculpted from paperclay without the use of molds…only my hands & a paintbrush. Kitty’s handle is fashioned from rusty wire which is not removable.
