Aria, a Primitive Glittery Angel with an Urge to Twirl.

Meet lovely Aria. This sweet angel is a little over 14 inches from head to toe with a wingspan of 9.5 inches. She has been made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. Aria has been hand-painted & sanded a couple of times, giving her such a lovely, aged patina. She’s been sealed with a combination of glossy & matte sealers so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Aria has an embroidery thread loop sewn to her back making her suitable for hanging. She can also be displayed sitting when propped up. She will not sit on her own. Her knees are sewn through.

Aria’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand. Her hands have been needle-sculpted as well. Aria sports brown painted gloves. She also sports painted brown boots with tan socks & red, laces.

I just love this little girl’s clothing! All that red makes me think of summer & the ripe strawberries, tomatoes, watermelons & cherries that will be coming our way! Aria’s blouse is made of white muslin. It features hand-gathered sleeves & hand-stitching around the neckline and back. It is finished off with a vintage button at the neckline. Aria’s skirt consists of three super delicious 100% cotton prints in coordinating reds. Each hem is hand-stitched with red thread. (I think she’s ready to go dancing in this flouncy little skirt!)

Aria’s wings have been made of muslin & cotton batting. They’re machine quilted, hand-painted & aged. I’ve applied vintage-style glass glitter to both sides of the wings. They’re attached to Aria with the prettiest vintage, mother of pearl button. These wings are 9.5 inches wide.

Aria’s hair is 100% black mohair. It has been applied with light glue for extra security & needle-felting. It has been ‘parted’ & styled into a messy bun in the back.

Bleu–a little girl sure to wash your winter blues away.

Are you dreaming of Spring yet?

This little girl sure is! (And after one of the worst ice storms I’ve ever seen, a lot of us here in Kentucky are too!) But until it arrives, she has some sweet friends to occupy her time.

Bleu is my original design. She’s been made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. Bleu measures 15″ tall from top to bottom. She has been constructed to stand & has a solid base. Her base is is rag-stuffed & bean-filled, allowing her stand properly. Bleu has been painted & sanded a couple of times, giving her such a lovely, aged patina. She has been sealed with a combination of glossy & matte sealers so that she may be lightly dusted after display.

Bleu’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand giving her a perfect pout. Bleu’s hands have been needle-sculpted. She sports brown painted gloves. Each bird has been wired to her arms with rusty wire.

Her blouse is made of white muslin. It features hand-gathered sleeves & hand-stitching around the neckline. It is finished off with a vintage mother of pearl button. Her delicate skirt is made of natural, nubby linen. It is truly soft & sumptuous. The hem features hand-stitching in a contrasting chocolate brown thread.

Bleu’s bluebirds, created to resemble the Eastern bluebird, have been made of muslin from 3 separate pieces. The wings feature hand-quilted & have been attached by hand. These bluebirds have been painted, sanded, stained & sanded again.

Bleu’s hair is 100% golden brown mohair. It is not nearly as red as depicted in these photos. Bleu’s hair was applied with light glue & needle-felting.

Adelaide – A Sweet Valentine Angel in Pale Shades

This little girl is Adelaide. Adelaide is a special angel. She brings with her Love & can be displayed in your home throughout the year. She is my original design & has been made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. She measures 14.5″ tall from head to toe. She’s been painted & sanded a couple of times, giving her a lovely, aged patina. She’s been sealed with a combination of glossy & matte sealers so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Adelaide can sit only with assistance. She has a hemp loop attached to her back for hanging. Her knees have been sewn through, making her a perfect shelf sitter.

Adelaide’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand giving her a perfect pout.

Adelaide’s blouse is made of white muslin. It features hand-gathered sleeves & hand-stitching around the neckline. It is finished off with a vintage, grey, mother of pearl button. Adelaide’s skirt is sumptuous! It is made of nubby, soft 100% natural linen. If you love texture & natural colors–this doll is so suitable for you!

Adelaide’s fingers have been needle-sculpted by hand. She sports brown, painted boots with tan socks & heavily detailed taupe laces. Her heart has been made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. It’s been painted, sanded, aged & detailed. Love has been written in black ink, on taupe cardstock & attached to the fabric heart with two tiny vintage mother of pearl buttons. The heart is attached to hemp string. It can be removed & stored so that you can display this lovely angel all year!

Adelaide’s wings are 9.5″ wide. They’ve been made of muslin, machine-quilted, painted, sanded & aged a couple of times. I added vintage-style glass glitter to both the front & back of the wings. They’re attached to Adelaide with several strands of heavy duty button thread & a vintage button.

Gloria – A Primitive Christmas Angel with Cardinals in Hand

This lovely lady is Gloria. Gloria & her feathered friends are my original designs, have been made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. Gloria measures 14.5″ tall from the top of her sweet annie halo to the her base. She has a 10″ wingspan. Gloria’s base has been rag-stuffed & bean-filled so that she stands nicely. Her arms have been attached separately & are supported with wire. She’s been painted & sanded many times, giving her a lovely, aged patina. She has been sealed so that she may be beautifully preserved.

Gloria’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her bottom lip & nose have been needle-sculpted by hand.

Gloria’s fingers have been needle-sculpted as well. She sports tan gloves. Gloria also wears a blouse fashioned from taupe osnaburg & a skirt fashioned from rich, chocolate velveteen. Her blouse features hand-gathered sleeves & hand stitching along the neckline & back. The hem of Gloria’s skirt has been hemmed by hand. A beautiful, vintage rhinestone earring adorns the front of the skirt for added sparkle. I snipped the post & attached it to the skirt securely with invisible thread. Gloria’s wings gave been made of muslin & are machine-quilted. They’ve been painted & sanded a couple of times & aged. The front of Gloria’s wings are generously dusted with vintage-style glass glitter. They’re attached to Gloria with a grey, vintage, mother of pearl button & several strands of heavy duty button thread.
A sweet annie halo adorns Gloria’s head.

Gloria’s cardinals have been made from muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. They have separately attached wings which have been hand-quilted. They’ve been painted, sanded & aged & come attached to Gloria’s arms with rusty wire.
