Berea Craft Festival Preview!

I’m so tickled to be participating in the 30th annual Berea Craft Festival, held in Berea, Kentucky. Today I’m busy wrapping dollies in bubble wrap, securely packaging them for travel & crossing items off my to-do list….and working on finishing a couple of dolls before this weekend’s show.

Here are a few examples of the newness I’ve created especially for the Berea Festival. There’s LOTS more. If you’re near Kentucky, come on out! Enjoy the music, food, art & hopefully, sunshine!

There’s more to be seen this weekend July 8-10th! www.bereacraftfestival.com

Blanca–A Snowball Toting Snow Girl.

This little little lady is Blanca. Her snowball never melts, but I can’t guarantee that she won’t try to toss it at you from across the room from time to time. She’s approximately 17″ tall from the top of her head to the tip of her shoes.  Blanca is a muslin & fiberfill creation. She’s been hand-painted top to bottom and has been sanded & aged, giving her such a lovely, vintage patina. She is sealed so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Her arms are button jointed. She has an embroidery thread loop attached to her back for hanging. She can sit, only with assistance.

Blanca’s face has been been carefully painted with a variety of media. Her nose has been attached separately & her bottom lip has been needle-sculpted by hand, to give her face a great bit of dimension. Her hands are needle-sculpted as well. Blanca’s boots are hand-painted & are extremely detailed.

Blanca’s skirt is made of a beautiful 100% cotton print. The hem features hand-stitching. Her blouse is made of cream muslin. A vintage mother of pearl button adorns the neckline. There is hand-stitching along the back, neckline & sleeves.

Ok. So this little snowball isn’t exactly icy. But I guarantee it will not melt! It’s a paperclay over styrofoam creation. It’s been sanded, painted, aged, sealed & dusted with flake glitter which resembles real snow flakes. A hemp hanger is securely & permanently attached.

Blanca is now available on Ebay. She will end Sunday night, Dec. 19th at 9:15 PM EST. Click here to view or bid on this little lady.
