PFATT Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Auction

I belong to a wonderful Ebay artists group known as PFATT (Primitive Folk Art Talk & Tea). Each year the members of PFATT participate in a charity auction. This year’s chosen ’cause’ is breast cancer awareness.

Twenty-one handmade ornaments are being presented on a 34″ feather tree made from real goose-feathers. 100% of the proceeds go to FORCE…(Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered).

Below is the ornament I donated to this charity auction. She’s 3″ wide x 2″ tall. She’s hand-painted, aged & sealed. Her wings are machine-quilted, painted muslin dusted with vintage style glass glitter. She comes in her own painted, aged, paper mache box.

Angeline — Keeper of the Lambs

This sweet lady is Angeline. She’s approximately 15″ tall from the top of her head to her base. She’s a muslin & fiberfill creation & is made in they style of a stump doll. She has no legs & stands on her own as her base is lightly weighted. She’s been hand-painted top to bottom and has been sanded & aged, giving her such a lovely, vintage patina. Angeline is sealed so that she may be lightly dusted after display.

Angeline’s face has been been carefully painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving her face a great bit of dimension. Her hands are needle-sculpted as well. Angeline’s beautiful white wings are machine-quilted, painted, stained & sanded & are covered in vintage-style German glass glitter. They sparkle brilliantly! They are attached to Angeline with a vintage, mother of pearl button & embroidery thread.

This fabric is part of one of my favorite Moda collections! It is 100% cotton & is so supple to the touch. The hem has been stitched by hand. Angeline’s blouse is made of white muslin. A vintage, grey mother of pearl button adorns the neckline. There is hand-stitching along the back, neckline & sleeves.

Aren’t these little guys the sweetest? They are made of five separate parts, button jointed. Each lamb measures 5.5″ long and 6″ tall. They’ve been hand-painted, aged & sealed for durability.

Angeline’s hair is 100% mohair. It has been secured to her head with needle-felting and a little glue for extra durability.

Rosetta, A Sweet Easter Angel Holding a Tiny Lamb

This is Rosetta. Rosetta is 16″ from the top of her head to her toes & has a wingspan measuring 9.5 inches. She has been made of muslin & is stuffed with fiberfill. Rosetta’s lower torso has been rag-stuffed & is lightly weighted so that she may sit nicely. She’s been hand-painted & sanded a couple of times, giving her a lovely, aged patina. She’s been sealed so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Rosetta’s knees are sewn through. She would look lovely perched upon a shelf or bookcase.

Rosetta’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand, giving her face a great bit of dimension & a beautiful little pout. She has needle-sculpted hands as well. Rosetta wears painted boots with tan socks & detailed, taupe laces. Her hand-painted, muslin wings, which are attached by vintage mother of pearl button, have been machine-quilted & are heavily aged.

Her beautiful polka dot dress is 100% cotton. The hem is hand-stitched with brown thread. Rosetta’s blouse is sewn from taupe osnaburg & features hand-stitching at the neckline, sleeves & back. A vintage, grey, mother of pearl button adorns the neckline.

This adorable little fellow has been been made of muslin & fiberfill from five separate pieces. He’s been hand-painted & sealed & may be displayed on his own. His limbs are attached with vintage, mother of pearl buttons.
