Oooh, I am thrilled to be able to offer this little Halloween set this week – Olivia & Tab #56. They turned out so incredibly cute & don my all-time favorite shades…brown & green. (My obsession with chartreuse began in high school after finding a perfect 1940’s bright green coat in a local thrift store for only……50 cents. I loved that coat. It was a major component of what my family often called my ‘homeless chic’ look at the time.)(psst…I secretly loved my homeless chic look too…)
Here’ are the pretty ladies:
This little pair is Olivia & Tab. And boy, are they ready for a Halloween Party! This doll set is my original design & is guaranteed one of kind art! Olivia & Tab have been made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. They’ve been painted & sanded, top to bottom many, many times & are sealed with a combination of sealers so that they may be beautifully preserved. Olivia sits on her own & is made in the fashion of my larger dollies. Tab sits with Olivia’s assistance. Sophie is 19 inches tall from the tip of her hat to the bottom of her shoes. Tab is 13 inches.
These sweet faces have been painted with a variety of mediums. Both dolls have needle-sculpted noses & Olivia’s bottom lip is needle-sculpted by hand as well. They have beautiful, three dimensional faces.
Both dolls sport dainty tan gloves on their needle-sculpted hands. They also sport pretty boots complete with green laces for Olivia & cream laces on Tab.
Both girls are wearing dresses made from 100% cotton prints. The fabric is truly supple & soft. Their blouses have been made of taupe osnaburg & feature hand-gathered sleeves & vintage mother of pearl buttons. All exposed hems have been hand-stitched as well as the collar & back of each blouse. Even these sweet party hats, made of cardstock & handmade lotka paper (not handmade by me–purchased from a specialty shop) are closed with stitching!
Olivia carries with her the accessory every little girl needs for a Halloween party!–a large pumpkin bucket to hold CANDY.
This pumpkin has been sculpted out of paper clay without the use of molds–only my hands and a paintbrush. It has been painted with acrylic paints & features tiny paper clay leaves & rusty wire handle. It has been antiqued, lightly sanded & sealed with matte sealant.
Olivia’s hair is black 100% mohair. It was lightly glued & carefully needle-felted to her head.
This sweet little set will be hitting eBay tonight, August 17th at 9 PM EST & will run through Sunday, August 24th at 9PM EST. Click here to make these party girls ours!
Oh Boy!
My best friends daughter’s name is Olivia and she looks just like this doll. Oh Boy- You have out done your self on this one. My whole house is painted a very light version of this green. My carpet is brown. Oh Boy!
You know how you got really nervous watching the ball going through the air to win or loose the game. That is how I feel waiting the two minutes after the last bid on the previous doll- waiting to see what is next… Like Christmas- waiting until the youngest opened their gifts and you were allowed to open yours. I am really, really old, my poor heart. I will start going to the YMCA to get in shape for the next doll. Waiting is the hardest thing to do. (Sound like the title for a good song). Take care Becky
Lol. This comment has really tickled me, Elise. I know exactly what you’re talking about in regards to waiting for the auction to end. I’ve felt like that myself at times too when bidding on items I really, really love & hope to win.
I feel that same way at live auctions too…I am just so open to that excitement & get caught up in it.
This set is super cute in person. To be truly honest, I squealed & ahhhed when I put the party hats on. They just became *alive* then. ( I sometimes wonder what my husband thinks…I’m not girlie, girlie but cute little artsy dollies just turn me into a puddle.)
Thanks for such kind words! And for your interest in my art. I am so very thankful that I get to spend my days creating art that my customers enjoy.
-Becky.
