Meet Rowena & Ronnie. Rowena is 14 inches from head to toe. She’s 17 inches counting her pointy hat. Shes been made of muslin & stuffed with fiberfill. She’s been hand-painted & sanded a couple of times, giving her a lovely, aged patina. She’s been sealed with a combination of glossy & matte sealers so that she may be lightly dusted after display. Rowena has an embroidery thread loop attached, making her suitable for hanging. She can only sit with assistance.
Rowena’s face has been painted with a variety of media. Her nose & bottom lip have been needle-sculpted by hand. Her hands have been needle-sculpted as well. She sports brown painted gloves & brown boots with tan socks & grey laces.
Rowena’s blouse is made of white muslin. It features hand-gathered sleeves & hand-stitching around the neckline and back. It is finished off with tiny, black buttons at the neckline. Rowena’s skirt is made of 100% cotton. I just love this Moda print! It’s perfect for whimsical Halloween dollies. The hem is hand-stitched with contrasting black thread. Rowena’s hat is made of brown wool. It has embroidery thread accents & is held in place with straight pins.
Isn’t Ronnie just the sweetest? He’s been made of muslin, stuffed with fiberfill, hand-painted, sanded, aged & sealed with matte sealer. He’s 5″ tall & is attached to Rowena with embroidery thread. He can be removed & displayed as an ornament if you wish to cut the embroidery thread & retie him.
Rowena’s curly black hair is 100% mohair. It has been applied with light glue for extra security & needle-felting.
Rowena & Ronnie are available on eBay. They will end Sunday, August 2nd. Click here to view or bid on this sweet pair.
This is the current crew hanging around my house. They can be a little trouble at times, but for the most part, everyone gets along. Of course, Alice will be in charge this week while I work on new dollies & run errands & such. Alice is my newest ‘type’ of doll, being a 19″ stand-up. The sweet butterfly to the left of Alice, is my typical 14″-15″ stand-up doll. It’s kinda fun seeing them all arranged like this for a group portrait. I had to snap it quick before they hopped, flew or galloped away–not to mention the havoc little Norma was trying to wreak with her spells! They’re anxious to see who will be joining them next!
